How to Report Online Fraud in Pakistan
Reporting online fraud usually involves three tracks: securing your accounts, notifying financial intermediaries, and filing with the competent cybercrime investigation agency under PECA. This guide is general information — portal fields and bank procedures change.
Suggested sequence (practical, not mandatory law)
First, stop contact with the suspected fraudster and secure passwords/SIMs. Second, notify the bank or wallet and collect a dispute reference. Third, compile evidence. Fourth, file through the official NCCIA complaint portal for PECA-related matters. Local police may still be appropriate for physical threats or non-PECA crimes.
- Do not pay “recovery agents” who cold-contact you on WhatsApp.
- Do not share remote-access apps with strangers claiming to help.
- Do not destroy devices that may hold forensic evidence.
Keyword note: cyber crime complaint Pakistan
Searches for “cyber crime complaint Pakistan”, “online fraud complaint Pakistan”, and “FIA cyber crime complaint” often seek the same outcome: how to start an official case. For PECA offences after the 2025 Amendment, the statutory investigation agency is NCCIA under section 29 — see the NCCIA complaint page for legacy FIA context.
