19. Academic Council.___(1) The Academic Council shall consist of :___ (i) the Vice-Chancellor, who shall be its Chairperson ; (ii) the Deans of University colleges ; (iii) the Principals of affiliated colleges ; (iv) the Professors and Directors of Institutes ; (v) five persons to be nominated by the Chancellor ; (vi) three women to be nominated by the Syndicate ; (vii) one representative of the National Academy of Higher Education ; and (viii) the Dean Administration, who shall also be its Secretary. (2) The members of the Academic Council, other than ex-officio members, shall hold office for three years; and if the office of any such member becomes vacant before the expiry of such vacancy shall be filled in accordance with subsection (1). (3) The number of members to constitute the quorum for a meeting of the Academic Council shall be one-third of the total number of members, a fraction being counted as one.
