7. Rector:___ (1) The Chancellor shall, on the recommendation of the Chairman, appoint an educationist of distinction as Rector for such period and on such terms and conditions as he may determine. (2) The Rector shall be the executive and academic head of the Institute and shall exercise general control and supervision over its affairs.
