270. Power to make rules.—(1) The Federal Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, make rules to regulate making of surveys. (2) In particular, and without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing power, such rules may provide for all or any of the following matters, namely:— (a) the times and places at which, and the manner in which, surveys are to be made; (b) the requirements as to construction, machinery, equipment and marking of sub-division load lines, which are to be fulfilled before a declaration of survey may be granted; (c) the duties of the surveyor making a survey, and where two or more surveyors are employed, the respective duties of each of the surveyors employed; (d) the form in which the declarations of survey and certificates of survey are to be made, and the nature of the particulars which are to be stated therein respectively; and (e) the rates according to which the fees payable in respect of surveys are to be calculated in the case of all or any of the ports of survey and sums payable on delivery of certificate.
