271. Special trade passenger ships to be mechanically propelled.—(1) No ship shall carry more than fifty special trade passengers unless she is propelled wholly by electricity or other mechanical means of power. (2) The owner, agent and master of a ship in respect of which the provisions of sub- section (1) are contravened shall each be liable to a fine which may extend to fifty thousand rupees.
