17. Academic and administrative staff.___ (1) The academic and administrative staff of the University shall be selected with a view to achieving its stated objectives and the basic criteria for their selection shall be the highest standards of competence, integrity and efficiency. (2) In the case of academic staff, academic qualification and fringe benefits shall not be less than those duly approved by the University Grants Commission for such appointments.
