32. Half-yearly returns and power to call for other returns and information.--(1) Every banking company shall, before the close of the month succeeding the half-year to which the return relates submit to the State Bank a half-yearly return in the prescribed form and manner showing its assets and liabilities in Pakistan as they stood at the close of business on the thirtieth day of June in the first half and the thirty-first day of December, in the second half of the year. (2) The State Bank may, at any time, by notice in writing, require banking companies generally, or any banking company in particular to furnish it within the time specified therein or such further time as the State Bank may allow, with any statement or information relating to the business or affairs of such banking company or companies (including any business or affairs with which such banking company or companies is or are concerned) and, without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing power, may call for information, at such intervals as the State Bank may deem necessary, regarding the investment of banking companies and the classification of their advances in respect of industry, commerce and agriculture.
