54B. Requisition of Police assistance.–Where a license, or any person duly authorised by him in this behalf, requires any police assistance for carrying out the purposes of this Act, he may make an application to the District Magistrate or Assistant Commissioner of the sub-division concerned and the District Magistrate or, as the case may be, the Assistant Commissioner may direct the officer in charge of the police station concerned to render the assistance required. 1Subs. by Act I of 1922, s. 21, for “the Secretary in the Public Works Department,” . 2Subs. by F.A.O 1975, Art. 2 and Table, for “Central Government” which had been subs. by A.O, 1937, for “G.
