Section 13: Incorporation of registered trade union

13. Incorporation of registered trade union.-- (1) Every registered trade union shall be a body corporate by the name under which it is registered, shall have perpetual succession and a common seal and the power to contract and to acquire, hold and dispose of property, both movable and immovable, and shall by the said name sue or be sued. (2) The Societies Registration Act, 1860 (XXIV of I860), the Cooperative Societies Act, 1925 (W.P. Act VII of 1925) and the Companies Act, 1984 (XLVII of 1984), shall not apply to any registered trade union and the registration of any trade union under any of these Acts shall be void.
