2[41. General reserve, unrealized revaluation reserve and special reserve.⸺(1) The Bank, with the approval of the Board, shall establish and maintain a general reserve account. The general reserve account may not be used except for the purposes of increasing the paid-up capital or of covering losses sustained by the Bank. (2) The Bank shall establish unrealized revaluation reserves accounts to account for unrealized gains and losses arising on its exposure in gold, financial instruments or other assets and liabilities on which such unrealized gains or losses are not required to be taken to the profit and loss account under the accounting standards followed by the Bank. (3) The Bank, with the approval of the Board, shall also make allocation to the unrealized revaluation reserve from the net annual profit, representing the unrealized gain on its exposures in foreign currencies, financial instruments, other assets and liabilities on which unrealized gains or losses are taken to the profit and loss account in accordance with the accounting standards followed by the Bank. (4) The Bank with the approval of the Board may establish special reserve accounts for any of its specific exposures.]
