67. Power to try offences summarily.—The District Magistrate or any Magistrate of the first class specially empowered in this behalf by the 1[Provincial Government] may try summarily, under the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 (V of 1898), any forest-offence punishable with imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months, or fine not exceeding five hundred rupees, or both.
