231. Power to make rules.—(1) The Federal Government, after consultation with the High Court, may, by notification in the official Gazette, make rules to carry out the purposes of this Chapter. (2) In particular, and without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing power, such rules may provide for all or any of the following matters, namely:— (a) the manner and form in which any notice or certificate under this Chapter shall be given; (b) the period for which proceedings or any class of proceedings shall be postponed under sub-section (1) of section 226; (c) the conditions subject to which damages may be awarded under sub-section (1) of section 228 and the amount of such damages; and (d) any other matter which is to be or may be prescribed.
