42A: Report of acquisition of rights

Report of acquisition of rights.– (1) With effect from the date notified under subsection (2) of section 41-A, a person acquiring a right in an estate by inheritance or 116 The Punjab Laws letter of administration under any law for the time being in force or any applicable mode as mentioned under clauses (ix) and (x) of sub-section (2) of section 17 of the Registration Act, 1908 (XVI of 1908) or through any other mode as may be notified by the Board of Revenue, shall forthwith report the acquisition of such right to the official of the Arazi Record Centre designated under the Punjab Land Records Authority Act 2017 (VI of 2017). (2) If the person acquiring the right is a minor or is otherwise unable to report, his guardian or the person having charge of his property shall make such report to the official of the Arazi Record Centre designated under the Punjab Land Records Authority Act 2017 (VI of 2017).] [* * * * * * * *]
