Section 595: Fees for establishing training institutions

595. Fees for establishing training institutions.—(1) For the purpose of establishing or financing institutions for training in the various trades, professions and callings provided for in this Ordinance, there shall be paid, in the prescribed manner, a monthly fee by the owner of every Pakistani ship at such rate as may be prescribed, not exceeding ten rupees per one hundred units of gross tonnage and different rates may be prescribed for different classes of ships. (2) If any owner fails or refuses to pay such fee, any Principal Officer may detain the ship, in respect of which the fee has not been paid in accordance with the provisions of sub-section (1), until such time as the fee payable in respect thereof has been duly paid. (3) The Federal Government may, by notification in the official Gazette, make rules providing for— (a) the appointment of a committee to administer the proceeds of the fees paid or collected under this section; (b) the rates of such fees; (c) the manner in which such fees shall be paid or collected; and (d) such other matter as may be considered, necessary for carrying out the purposes of this section.
