330. Power to make Rules with respect to the construction and survey of cargo ships, etc.—(1) The Federal Government may, by notification in the official Gazette, make rules, prescribing the requirements for the hull, equipment and machinery of ships to which section 329 applies, and the requirements of survey thereof. (2) In particular, and without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing power, such rules may provide for all or any of the following matters, namely:— (a) the extent of surveys and the manner in which and the intervals at which surveys shall be made; (b) the requirements as to construction, machinery and equipment; (c) the form and manner in which declaration of surveys shall be issued and transmitted and the particulars which shall be stated therein; (d) the fees that may be charged for surveys made under these rules; and (e) such other matters as may be necessary for carrying out purposes of section 329.
