WHEREAS the President is satisfied that circumstances exist which render it necessary to take immediate action; NOW, THEREFORE, in pursuance of the Proclamation of Emergency of the fourteenth day of October, 1999, and Provisional Constitution Order No. 1 of 1999, as well as Order No. 9 of. 1999, and in exercise of all powers enabling him in that behalf, the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is pleased to make and promulgate the following Ordinance:—
- Section 1: Short title and com mencement
- Section 2: Definitions
- Section 3: Establish ment and incorporation of the Institute
- Section 4: Powers and functions of the Institute. The Institute shall have the powers
- Section 5: Institute open to all classes, etc. The Institute shall be open to all persons of either sex of
- Section 6: Teaching and examinations
- Section 7: Authorities of the Institute. The following shall be the Authorities of the Institute, namely:
- Section 8: Officers of the Institute. The following shall be the officers of the Institute, namely:
- Section 9: Patron
- Section 10: Visitation
- Section 11: Chancellor
- Section 12: Rector
- Section 13: Board of Governors
- Section 14: Powers and functions of the Board
- Section 15: Meetings of the Board
- Section 16: Director
- Section 17: Academic Council
- Section 18: Powers of the Academic Council
- Section 19: Constitution, functions and powers of the Authorities
- Section 20: Committees. The Board, the Academic Council or any other Authority may appoint such
- Section 21: Academic and administrative staff
- Section 22: Fund of the Institute
- Section 23: Audit and accounts
- Section 24: Indemnity. No suit, prosecution or legal proceedings shall lie against the Institute, Board, any
