27. Offence and penalties.___ If any person fails to comply with any direction given under section 7 or makes or causes to be made an application for the registration of a design in contravention of that section,' he shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine which may extend to twenty thousand rupees, or with both.
