11A: Appointment and duties of Kanungo and Patwari

Appointment and duties of Kanungo and Patwari.– (1) A Kanungo in Kanungo Circle and Patwari in Patwar Circle shall be appointed by such officer on such terms and conditions as may be prescribed. (2) The Kanungo shall, within Kanungo Circle, be responsible for supervising, inspecting, verifying the land records and revenue survey and performing such other duties as may be prescribed. (3) The Patwari shall, within Patwar Circle, be responsible for preparing, maintaining and retaining custody of the land records, conducting revenue survey and performing such other duties as may be prescribed.]
