59: Notification of intended re-assessment and instructions as to principles of assessment

Notification of intended re-assessment and instructions as to principles of assessment.– (1) Assessments of land-revenue may be general or special. (2) A general assessment or re-assessment of the land-revenue of any area shall not be undertaken without the previous sanction of Government and notification of that sanction. (3) In granting such sanction Government may give such instructions consistent with the provisions of this Act and the rules made thereunder as it may deem fit.
