The Director General and Directors.―(1) The Director General shall be the chief executive of the Institute and shall exercise both administrative and financial powers within the framework of policy laid down by the Governing Body. (2) The Director-General shall be appointed by the Federal Government and shall be an eminent technologist of standing by virtue of his contribution to the profession of electronic engineering and technology. (3) The Directors, other than the Director, Finance, shall be appointed by the Federal Government from amongst eminent technologists in the field of activity of the Division concerned and shall perform such functions as may be assigned to them by the Director General, and the Director, Finance, shall be nominated by the Ministry of Finance. (4) The Director-General and a Director shall hold office for such period not exceeding three years as the Federal Government may determine at the time of his appointment and shall be eligible for re-appointment for such further period or periods, not exceeding three years at any one time, as the Federal Government may deem fit. (5) The remuneration and other terms and conditions of service of the Director-General and Directors shall be such as may be determined by the Federal Government.
