490. Delivery of cancelled or suspended certificates.—(1) A master, mate or engineer whose certificate has been cancelled or suspended by the Federal Government, or has been suspended by a Maritime Board, shall deliver his certificate— (a) If suspended by a Maritime Board, to that Board on demand; (b) if not so demanded, or it is cancelled or suspended by the Federal Government, to the Federal Government, or to such officer as the Federal Government may direct. (2) If a master, mate or engineer fails to comply with this section, he shall, for each offence, be liable to a fine which may extend to five thousand rupees.
