Section 22: Trial of Offences

22. Trial of Offences.—(1) Unless otherwise provided under the provisions of this Act, any person committing an offence under the provisions of this Act shall be punishable under section 27 or under any of the laws extended under this Act and shall be tried by a Court of Sessions designated by the Federal Government in consultation with Chief Justice of the High Court of the respective province, in this behalf. (2) Without prejudice to the provisions of the Pakistan Maritime Sectirity Agency Act, 1994 (X of 1994), no proceedings shall be initiated under this Act except on a complaint in writing to the competent Court of Sessions made by Pakistan Maritime Security Agency or Pakistan Navy.
