3. Constitution of the Authority.—(1) There shall be established an Authority to be known as the Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority to carry out the purposes of this Act. (2) The Authority shall be a body corporate having perpetual succession and a common seal, with power subject to the provisions of this Act, to acquire and hold property, both movable, and immovable, shall by said name sue and be sued. (3) The headquarters of the Authority shall be at Karachi and it may, with the prior approval of the Federal Government setup regional offices at such places as, when and where required.
