418. Notice of loss of Pakistani ship to be given.—(1) If the owner or agent of any Pakistani ship has reasons, owing to the non-appearance of the ship or to any other circumstance, to apprehend that the ship has been wholly lost, he shall, as soon as conveniently may be, send to the Federal Government notice in writing of the loss and of the probable cause thereof stating the name of the ship, her official number, if any, and her port of registry. (2) If the owner or agent fails, without reasonable cause, to comply with this section he shall be liable to a fine which may extend to five thousand rupees.
