Section 48: Approved arbitrators

(1) The Commission shall maintain, in consultation with the regional or local chamber of commerce, registers of approved and disapproved arbitrators as amended from time to time at its offices as well as its website and parties by consent may choose one or more arbitrators for resolution of trade dispute. Any such list of approved and disapproved arbitrators if also maintained by trade bodies shall be shared with the Commission so that a collated list may be prepared and maintained by the Commission. (2) In case, parties are unable to choose an arbitrator, the Commission shall appoint the same as it may deem appropriate, keeping in view the nature, complexity and legal disposition of the dispute.
