Section 185G: Persons who may conduct prosecution etc

185G. Persons who may conduct prosecution etc.- (1) Notwithstanding anything contained in the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898(Act V of 1898), a Special Prosecutor appointed under section 47 of the Prevention of Smuggling Act,1977, shall be competent to conduct prosecution before a Special Judge for and on behalf of the Federal Government and to withdraw prosecution when so required by the Federal Government. (2) A law officer appointed under the Central Law Officers Ordinance,1970 (Ordinance VII of 1970) 30[or an advocate authorized by the Board or by an officer subordinate to it] shall be competent to conduct proceedings before a Special Appellate Court on behalf of the Federal Government and to withdraw such proceedings when so required by the Federal Government.]
