Section 25: Assistance to authorities

[25. Assistance to authorities.— (1) Notwithstanding the provisions of any other law, the officers of the Federal Government, Provincial Governments, local authorities and reporting entities shall provide assistance including but not limited to production of records, documents and information reasonably required by the investigating or prosecuting agency or FMU for the purposes of money laundering, predicate offences and financing of terrorism proceedings and investigations in accordance with the provisions of this Act. (2) Whoever willfully fails or refuses to provide the required assistance under sub-section (1) shall be guilty of misconduct and shall be proceeded against by its respective department or organization and a report of such proceedings shall be submitted within reasonable time to the concerned investigating or prosecuting agency or FMU, as the case may be and shall be punished in the case of a natural person, with an imprisonment for a term which may extend up to five years, a fine which may extend to rupees one million or both, or in the case of a legal person, with a fine which may extend to ten million rupees.]
