Section 141: Powers of the Election Tribunal

141. Powers of the Election Tribunal.—(1) The Election Tribunal shall have all the powers of a civil court trying a suit under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 (Act V of 1908), and shall be deemed to be a civil court within the meaning of sections 476, 480 and 482 of the Code. (2) For the purpose of enforcing attendance of witnesses, the local limits of the jurisdiction of the Election Tribunal shall be the territories to which this Act extends.
