The Post Office National Savings Certificates Ordinance, 1944

WHEREAS an emergency has arisen which renders it necessary to make certain provision in respect of Post Office Twelve-Year National Savings Certificates and other classes of Savings Certificates; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 72 of the Government of India Act, as set out in the Ninth Schedule to the Government of India Act, 1935 (26 Geo. 5,c.2.), the Governor-General is pleased to make and promulgate the following Ordinance:-

• Section 1: Short title, application and commencement
• Section 2: Interpretation
• Section 3: Restriction of transfer
• Section 4: Payment on death of holder of savings certificate
• Section 5: Holdings by or on behalf of minors
• Section 6: Rules
